Outdoor Activity

Rather than complaining about the cold weather, get outside and embrace it through skiing or snowboarding! The FLOW area has many nearby mountains for you to choose from based on ski level and how far you want to drive. If you want to keep it local, hit up Campgaw in Mahwah where a day pass can range from only $22-$26 on Monday through Thursday. Mountain Creek is another great option, and is only a 45-minute drive away with more challenging trails.
Restaurants

New on the food scene in the FLOW District is Pazza, a modern Italian Restaurant in Franklin Lakes. Chef Arturo Barrales, from Cafe Amici in Wyckoff, is working with local farms like Abma’s, to bring you delicious pizzas and other Italian dishes. If you are feeling hungry for something new over break, stop by these new restaurant! Or, if you want to gather your friends for an entertaining meal, Naru, a new hibachi restaurant in Franklin Lakes, is perfect!
Shopping

You may be feeling inspired to go shopping over break after New York City Fashion Week from February 8th to 14th, and New Jersey is known for its vast amount of shopping locations. If you are bored of going to Garden State Mall and want a change of scenery, visit Tice’s Corner in Woodcliff Lakes for a more boutique shopping experience. With stores ranging from South Moon Under to Ruby and Jenna, Tice’s Corner has a lot of options that you won’t find at large malls and will make your friends envious of your new style.
NYC

Within an hour by train or car, you can spend a day of break in one of the most popular cities in the world: New York City! In November, Nutella opened up a cafe location near Union Square and the menu is beyond mouth watering. New York is also known for its great music, so catching a concert is always a great option. For example, Vince Staples is playing at Hammerstein Ballroom on February 21st. If the weather is nice, it is always fun to get on the subway and walk around a new neighborhood, from SoHo to the Lower East Side.
